And just like that, I turned around and a year has gone by.

What was Pergolina is now a memory... a memory filled with pride and joy, of friends who became family, and of a heart made full by knowing I accomplished a dream: bringing art, curiosity, and wonder to Toluca Lake, the village where I grew up.

Things change.

The space is now filled with the sweet scent of cocoa and cream, blue-and-white lights, and children rushing in for their scoop of gelato.

There is a feeling of lightness in Toluca Lake. New life. Acceptance. Kindness. Love.

Toluca Lake Pride Fest... a first. Oh, how I love firsts. A day filled with happiness.

There have been many firsts in Pergolina's 35 years. It always just took one step that turned into a gallop.

And now, there are so many places to go and so many things to do.

I'm off to walk the aisles of wonder, filling the bags of PERGOLINA.COM with the same treasures that once graced the walls of my home away from home.
